EOSC-ENTRUST publishes updated Blueprint and Interoperability Framework
The EOSC-ENTRUST project has published the second version of its Blueprint and Interoperability Framework, presenting updated architecture and operational, legal and technical components to support federated access to sensitive research data across Europe.
EOSC-ENTRUST is building a European network of Trusted Research Environments (TREs) and developing a common framework for secure and interoperable data access and analysis. The updated Blueprint addresses gaps identified during validation of the first version through project use cases and introduces revised architectural specifications and additional requirements.
A key focus of the updated version is secure and interoperable processing of sensitive data, with emphasis on Authentication, Authorisation and Auditing Infrastructure (AAAI), shared identity management and secure data processing mechanisms. The Blueprint also presents an end-to-end user journey, from data discovery and access requests to analysis, output control and publication. It aligns the EOSC-ENTRUST framework with developments in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) and the European Health Data Space (EHDS).
The project will continue refining the Blueprint during its final phase. The final version will define minimum requirements for joining a federation of TREs and provide a foundation for long-term sustainability.
